Rainbow Region Community Farms Inc was formed in 2006 with the aim of establishing a network of community gardens through-out the Northern Rivers area of New South Wales, Australia.

Our objectives are to:

• - Establish a centrally located, large-scale community farm
• - Provide a training facility offering workshops to accredited education
• - Help residents establish neighbourhood gardens
• - To design gardens to best take advantage of the site characteristics
• - Provide a location for community events
• - Demonstration sites for sustainable practices and products
• - Construct gardens to accommodate the needs of all association members
• - Establish a community nursery and kitchen
• - Practice environmentally safe gardening techniques

Our Aims are:

Weeding the garden beds

• - To build a sense of community
• - Improve family nutrition
• - Facilitate environmental improvement
• - Promote local health and fitness
• - Provide sustainable education, training and workshops
• - Create employment and work experience opportunities

We are in the process of creating a new Community Garden in Lismore that is open to all local residents and organisations.

Members can enjoy a range of opportunities, such as renting garden plots at the Lismore Community Garden, regular newsletters advising what is happening within the organisation, information and community garden events, training and celebrations, attending RRCF meetings, and contributing to a wonderful and local initiative.
