Open Day for the Garden

On Saturday 31st of October we held an Open Day at the site of the community garden to show everyone what we are working towards, to help drum up some enthusiasm and support for the garden, and also to have fun and start to organise some community events.

The day consisted of various workshops (including no-dig gardening, making compost teas, waterwise gardening and worm farms) as well as fun activities such as face painting for the kids.  To finish up the day Mark Bromely from the local band Stipsky played his fiddle while we danced around a maypole.

The day was a huge success with many more people turning up than we had hoped.  Below are a few photos of the day (for a larger view, simply click on the photo).
